Modern Fieldtrip is an app for the perfect day trip. It focuses on creating a collaborative ecosystem for field trips with friends. The challenge of working on the design for this app was to create a simple and seamless interface that didn’t get in the way of the user making or going on a trip.
I focused on creating a very simple and elegant way to interact with locations on your trip. By swiping to the right on a location, you are presented with options to delete or to confirm that you have visited that location.
This project was an exercise is minimalism, experimenting with what i could do with just a circle. This came from a creative exercise I often emily with logo work, where I apply as many adjectives to the logo as possible, and then illustrate them (i.e. squashed, cut, sharpened, etc).
I this project started by brainstorming and sketching all of the situations I could put the circle in and how it would react. From there I picked my favorites and began to render them in Cinema 4D.
The Overture X4 is a midi controller and mobile music production app. It was an interesting project because it not only had a digital component but a physical component as well. I was in charge of designing the physical product, the interface, and the promo website.
It was a challenge to keep all three elements on brand and consistent, especially taking physical hardware into account. Keeping these disparate elements cohesive came down to simplifying the app and adding complexity to the hardware.
