CURRENT is an energy monitoring system that acts as an extension of your iPhone. The app was designed to actively monitor any appliance that it’s plugged into. While also giving you the ability to toggle any of the appliances on or off.

Through this process we skinned an app for iOS, created a mobile-first website, mocked up the router and plug that will be used for the app, as well as designed packaging and built out branding guidelines for the CURRENT brand.

MUUN (pronounced moon) is a dark, couture fashion magazine with strong focus on women’s clothing, androgyny, and the eerie, underground side of the entertainment industry. I wanted to keep the magazine oriented toward my distinct niche reader- the fashion-loving, goth-leaning, night-loving young urbanite. Each issue maintains the use of black and white photos and ads contrasted by pops of bold color.

One strong bold color is used per issue, appearing as punchy accents in headlines, body copy, and graphical elements. The first issue – The Wild Issue – uses a provocative deep pink that almost borders red. I want to give a huge thank you to all of the photographers that provided the stunning imagery: Josie Simonet, Avi Loud, Fiona Pepe, and Kirby Calvin.

Stereo Sons - Ask

Brit Zerbo

This collaborative music video for Seattle band Stereo Sons was born out of a serendipitous trade with drummer Mike O’Doherty for drum lessons. Together, photographer Sean Balko and I created a piece reflecting the organic sensuality of the band’s sound.  The song “Ask” is off their 2014 album We’re all Friends Here.

To generate these stunning color formations, we filmed chemical reactions of heavy whipping cream, food coloring, and dish soap. The dancers, Molly Sides and Calie Swedberg, were given freedom to activate the space however they were moved. The final video was assemble in After Effects, and turned out as trippy and lovely as we’d hoped.
