This is one of the most interesting cats I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. The eye color is all-natural and the pose is just his cattitude, Steven was by far one of the most patient models I’ve ever had. I’m always a bit hesitant when it comes to shooting felines, it’s definitely a great challenge in patience, but Steven showed me that not all cats are uncomfortable outside the home.
Steven was unfortunately abandoned outside a vet hospital at a young age, but was adopted by his lovely owner Jayme and remains happily in her care ever since.
Meet Peeko, his fantastic owner is one of our very own SCCA students Jasmine Speaks. She assisted me in photographing her beautiful dog that loves carrots. With this shoot I really wanted to focus on the beauty of Peeko and his mellow personality. Peeko is starting to get old, but no matter his age, he will always have a permanent imprint on his family’s heart.
The eyes of this dog do not lie, and in them I see my passion for this industry and my reason for being here in the first place. I learned so much from this shoot and hope to have many more like them to come.
This year I did a lot of work with a local non-profit The Doney Clinic. Located in the Union Gospel Mission downtown, The Doney Clinic is entirely volunteer run and their aim to help homeless people and their animals free of charge. Open every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, The Doney Clinic operates in tight quarters to serve a lot of people and their pets.Without these individuals generosity, many Seattle animals would not get the proper care they need and deserve.
This project’s aim was to try to bring more awareness to The Doney Clinic by providing them with promotional material for their website and acting headquarters. I hope you enjoy, and many thanks to all the people who made this project possible along with making The Doney Clinic accessible to all.
